About the Role
We're looking for a high-agency AI engineer to build production systems at the intersection of ML, product, and engineering. You'll ship AI-powered features while pushing the boundaries of generative AI models and agent architectures.
What You'll Do
- Design and deliver scalable AI features powering core experiences like discovery, deep research, and monetization
- Develop evaluation platforms measuring answer quality, model performance, and product impact
- Apply state-of-the-art techniques to personalization, query understanding, and information retrieval
- Build AI agent systems through tool design, prompt engineering, and architecture optimization
- Continuously improve performance, reliability, and cost efficiency through thoughtful system design
What We're Looking For
Required
- 3+ years building and shipping production AI or software systems
- Hands-on experience with agentic applications, tool calling, and model serving
- Strong backend and systems design skills with practical tradeoffs between cost, latency, and quality
- Excellent programming skills in Python with production-quality code standards
- Self-directed with high agency and bias toward shipping impactful work
- BS/MS/PhD in Computer Science or related field
Bonus Points
- Deep expertise in PyTorch/TensorFlow, LLMs, information retrieval, NLP, or ranking systems
- Post-training expertise: RLHF, reward modeling, SFT, instruction tuning
- Experience with model inference optimization and serving
- Open-source contributions or publications in ML, NLP, or IR
